James 7th July 2020

Captain Tom... I will hold on and cherish our conversations about the war, cars and most importantly the jet wash. I have lots of fond memories of messing around in your study, moving your pens out of their well considered order. You were someone I enjoyed speaking to about things as you always said it how it is, around my driving test you gave me some of this advice “think of everyone else on the roads as complete idiots”, absolutely grandad. I will remember forever our journey down to Guildford to uncle corks bbq, both wearing shirts and your dickie bow ties from your cupboard... blaring Frank Sinatra! Your driving at this point isn’t worth mentioning but you took it slow as you always did and in the middle of the lane. I will forever try to live in your image of thinking logically and having a plan, Rest easy Grandad xx
